Diarrhea Planet was joined by Sturgill Simpson, Jason Isbell and Sadler Vaden during their hometown set at Nashville’s historic The Ryman Auditorium on Saturday night. The performance in support of Jason Isbell and The 400 Unit was the final live appearance by Diarrhea Planet, who announced their breakup earlier this year.
Diarrhea Planet played a pair of local gigs at the Exit/In last month that served as the band’s official final shows. The support set at The Ryman was called a “victory lap” by the now-defunct group. Isbell and The 400 Unit guitarist Vaden came out for “Ain’t A Sin To Win” and also joined in, along with Simpson, on the closing “Emmett’s Vision.” Watch the seven-guitar collaboration below via Bobby Lee:
