JamBase’s Scott Bernstein talked “Tour Stories” with Steve Kimock at the Sweetwater In The Sun event held in Novato, California. Steve recalled his time pulling pranks on the road as a member of Zero, talked about his interactions with the late great Jaco Pastorius, shared a story of sleeping on the beach after police kicked the band out of a hotel and more.
Marcus King met up with JamBase’s Andy Kahn ahead of a recent gig in the Twin Cities for a “Musical Mentors” segment. King reminisced about growing up in a musically talented family including his professionally playing grandfather and dad, detailed the genesis of his relationship with Warren Haynes, offered insights into his interactions with Derek Trucks and Susan Tedeschi on The Wheels Of Soul Tour and recording The Marcus King Band’s new album Carolina Confessions with producer Dave Cobb.
ScottyB and David Onigman kick things off with “The Rundown” in which they pay tribute to Jefferson Airplane vocalist Marty Balin who passed away last week. The two also cover many recent tour date announcements, including several surrounding New Year’s Eve. DaveO and ScottyB close out “The Rundown” by recapping their experiences at the aforementioned Sweetwater In The Sun event.
