The String Cheese Incident finished their second of three nights performing at this year’s Suwannee Hulaween in Live Oak, Florida on Saturday night with a wild encore. Cheese fit portions of seven space-themed songs from movies and television shows within their own “Rollover” to end an evening that included a Women Of The Galaxy set at The Spirit Of The Suwannee Music Park. SCI shared pro-shot video of the “Space Jam” encore.
The sextet first linked “Rollover” to a jam on the theme song from the 1977 film Close Encounters Of The Third Kind. Next came jams on the Star Wars theme song as well as the “Cantina Song” and “Imperial March” from Star Wars films. The String Cheese Incident went on to show love for Star Trek by grooving on the theme songs from both the original television program and Star Trek: The Next Generation. Finally, SCI covered Deodato’s arrangement of “Also Sprach Zarathrustra,” the theme from 2001: A Space Odyssey before concluding “Rollover.” A horn section of Dennis Marion, Marcus Parsley, Richard Sherrington and Kenny Hamilton accompanied Cheese.
