Today, Widespread Panic has released the 39th edition of the band’s on-going Porch Songs archive. For this new edition of the two-track live series, Widespread Panic has released the group’s performance from Tipitina’s in New Orleans, LA on October 26th, 1992.
Widespread Panic opens the show with “Driving Song” sandwich, before working through a massive “It Ain’t No Use” > “Dream Song” > “Weight Of The World”. The band brings the single-set show to a close by inviting up Blues Traveler’s Bobby Sheehan on bass, and Chan Kinchla on guitar, to help out with “Chilly Water”. “The Take Out” > “Porch Song” served as the show’s encore, a true gem in itself that’s a must listen.
According to Widespread Panic, “It’s rare to come across many high-quality soundboard recordings from this era. And as you’ll be able to hear, the ‘NOLA 1992’ recording isn’t without its blemishes. Regardless, it’s a lot of fun to listen to, and you can tell the band is having a blast this particular night.”

Last month, Widespread Panic announced that they will return to Atlanta, GA for a three-night New Year’s run, set to take place at The Fox Theatre on Saturday, December 29th; Sunday, December 30th; and Monday, December 31st. This will mark Widespread Panic’s second consecutive time ringing in the new year in Atlanta, following a similar New Year’s run at The Fox in 2017.
