Annual South-Sydney based music industry conference Australian Music Week kicks off today and ICYMI they’ve announced their first annual dedicated heavy music showcase.
Curated by Tim Price, the mastermind behind Australia’s 24-hour heavy online radio station The Faction, the showcase of Australia’s brightest up-and-coming heavy talent will feature performances from Brisbane punks Stepson, Sydney heavy alternative trio RedHook, Brissie metalcore crew She Cries Wolf, funk-punks Maverick and Sydney hard rockers Nothing Like You.
“I couldn’t be more excited about being asked to curate this side of Australian Music Week,” Price tells Music Feeds.
“To put together this showcase of some of the best up and comers in Australia right now, feels great. And I can’t wait to get some discussion going on the panels. Heavy music is in a very exciting time at the moment, it feels like its on the verge of a new era, so its great timing.”
It’s all going down tomorrow night at the Miranda Hotel and best of all it’s FREE.
