Ghost Light Debuts The Band Cover At Fall Tour 2018 Opener

234

New supergroup Ghost Light kicked off their fall tour on Wednesday night at Jupiter Hall in Albany. Keyboardist Holly Bowling, guitarists Tom Hamilton (Joe Russo’s Almost Dead/American Babies) and Raina Mullen (American Babies), drummer Scotty Zwang (Dopapod/RAQ) and bassist Steve Lyons (Nicos Gun) focused on originals over the course of a 100-minute performance and also worked in a Bob Dylan song and the debut of a The Band cover.

Ghost Light began their set with a run of “Come Apart,” “Leave The Light On” and “This Ain’t Going Nowhere.” The five-piece then presented their first ever rendition of “Look Out, Cleveland” by The Band. Ghost Light extended the song with a meaty jam before moving on to the catchy “Keep Your Hands To Your Self.” Hamilton then led the group on Bob Dylan’s “Tangled Up In Blue.” Last night’s set concluded with the pairing of “Lead Weight” and “Synth Driver.” Ghost Light had a “Bullseye Blues” > “Come Apart” encore in store for their tour opener.
