Margo Price, Maggie Rose and Rayland Baxter were among musicians that came together on Saturday to perform a tribute to The Band’s The Last Waltz. The event held at Nashville’s The Basement East was a benefit for the Ben Eyestone Fund.
Price was a un-billed participant, joining Mark Fredson on “Tears Of Rage.” Rose took the stage while backed by The Texas Gentlemen and Nashville Horns for a rendition of “Stagefright.” Baxter was on stage to a lead a rendition of “Mystery Train.” Additional performers included Steve Gorman, Allen Thompson, JD McPherson, Jon Latham, Chuck Mead, Cory Younts and others.
Ben Eyestone was a Nashville-based drummer who died at the age of 28 last year from colon cancer. Eyestone performed with Margo Price, Nikki Lane, Little Bandit and many other Nashville musicians. Music City Maven posted several videos from the tribute concert, watch highlights below:
