Montana-based jamgrass act The Lil Smokies unveiled a studio version featuring their take on The Beatles’ “Paperback Writer.” The release comes one month after the band shared “Rocket Man,” an Elton John cover. Both singles were recorded at SnowGhost Music.
While The Lil Smokies have plenty of original material in their repertoire, they do pepper setlists with a wide array of covers. “Paperback Writer” and “Rocket Man” are each live staples. The Lil Smokies also perform Fleetwood Mac’s “Go Your Own Way,” Led Zeppelin’s “Going To California” and “Run To You” by Brian Adams from time to time.
