Ghost Light shared the third installment of the band’s Full Show Friday series of official live recordings. The show featured took place on May 11, 2018 at the Fox Theatre in Boulder, Colorado.
Guitarist Tom Hamilton, bassist Steve Lyons, guitarist Raina Mullen, drummer Scotty Zwang and keyboardist Holly Bowling‘s concert in Boulder was held on Holly’s birthday. Hamilton announced the occasion following a 30+ minute run of “100 Years Ago” > “I Dare You” > “Best Kept Secret” that ended the first set. Tommy then led the crowd and his mates in singing “Happy Birthday To You” to Bowling.
The quintet opened the second set with an expansive cover of “Head Over Heels” by Tears For Fears that spanned nearly 20 minutes. “Head Over Heels” bled into the originals “Nickels & Dimes” and “Bring It In Close.” Another highlight of the night was a winding “Lead Weight” that included “Streets Of Brooklyn” from Tom and Raina’s American Babies project within as well as teases of “Head Over Heels” and the Grateful Dead’s “Slipknot!” For the encore, Ghost Light provided a quick romp through Suzy Quatro’s “The Wild One.” Listen to the band’s May 11, 2018 performance at Boulder’s Fox Theatre below:
