On Saturday, Jeff Tweedy celebrated the release of his sophomore solo album WARM with a special intimate show at The Hideout in Chicago. The Wilco frontman who has been on a promotional blitz for both the record and his memoir Let’s Go (So We Can Get Back) – A Memoir Of Recording And Discording With Wilco, Etc., delivered a short set for roughly a 100+ people, that was live-streamed.

Last night Jeff was backed by a four-piece band that included his sons Spencer Tweedy on drums. The singer-songwriter opened the performance with “Bombs Away” the lead track on WARM. Over the course of the next 30+-minutes Tweedy & Co. would work there through eight of the record’s 11 tracks delivering takes on the likes of “Some Birds,” “Let’s Go Rain” and “I Know What It’s Like” during the broadcast. Tweedy returned for an extended ten-song encore exclusively for fans at the show.

Tweedy offered up a mix of new songs, covers and cuts from Mermaid Avenue and the Tweedy album Sukierae. Jeff opened things with a pair of new songs that he revealed would be included on a new EP to be released next year to be called WARMER according to a post on the Wilco fansite Via Chicago. Neil Young’s “The Losing End” and Doug Sahm’s “Give Back The Key To My Heart” along with “Remember The Mountain Bed” and “California Stars” were among the highlights of the encore.
