On Friday, moe. continued the Florida leg of their fall tour with a stop at the Culture Room in Fort Lauderdale. The Buffalo-born band delivered a memorable version of “Recreational Chemistry” out of the gate and continued to give love to their take on a Led Zeppelin classic.

The quintet wasted no time during the opening frame in the Sunshine State as they dove head first into a lengthy take on “Recreational Chemistry” that would be stretched out over the course of nearly the next forty minutes. moe. delivered the first part of the old-school song before segueing into “ATL.” The Al Schneir-penned tune which was revived last year after its one-off debut in 2012, has gotten frequent workouts this year, with last night marking its ninth version. The rarity would eventually wind its way back into “Recreational Chemistry” as the five-piece finished out the jam-heavy take on the Headseed cut. The pairing of “Shoot First” and fan-favorite “Mexico” highlighted the back half of the first set.

“Same Old Story” was tapped to open up the second stanza. moe. didn’t shy away from long jams as they dedicated nearly a half-hour to “Rise” > “Silver Sun.” The latter part of the set featured a seamless stretch that got underway with the classic setlist staple “Hi & Lo.” The tune that dates back to 1998 wound its way into “Water” with “Hector’s Pillow” and “Plane Crash” closing things out. moe. looked to their cover of “Immigrant Song” for the encore, offering up the cut from Led Zeppelin III for the fifth time since it was debuted at this year’s installment of the Summer Camp Music Festival.
