The Newport Folk Festival will take place from July 26 – 28, 2019 at Fort Adams State Park in Newport, Rhode Island. Today, the storied festival has added another act to its lineup with the supergroup Bonny Light Horseman. The three-piece band is made up of Fruit Bats’ frontman Eric D. Johnson, singer-songwriter Anais Mitchell and guitarist Josh Kaufman.
For their 2019 edition, the Newport Folk Festival has announced that they have partnered with each act on the lineup to donate to a music education cause of their choosing. Newport Festivals Foundation has made a donation on behalf of Bonny Light Horseman to Balint Charities. This donation will provide musical instruments to children who otherwise cannot afford them.
Bonny Light Horseman joins Mountain Man, Gregory Alan Isakov and If I Had A Song, which will close out the festival and celebrate Newport Folk Festival founder Pete Seeger’s 100th birthday. The 2019 installment of the Newport Folk Festival is officially sold out.
