Bruce Springsteen – Springsteen On Broadway
The Scoop: Tomorrow, Bruce Springsteen will end his run on Broadway with a final Springsteen On Broadway presentation at the Kerr Theatre in New York City and Netflix will premiere a concert film documenting the solo performance. Today, The Boss issued the soundtrack to Springsteen On Broadway featuring highlights from the 236-show run that began in October 2017. The songs on the soundtrack include the spoken word introductions from the stage production. Among the 16-track collection are classic Springsteen favorites such as “Born to Run,” “My Hometown,” “The River,” “Thunder Road,” “Born in the U.S.A.” and “Tenth Avenue Freeze-out.” Springsteen’s wife and E Street Band member Patti Scialfa supplies additional vocals to “Brilliant Disguise” and “Tougher Than the Rest.”
The Decemberists – Traveling On
The Scoop: The tracks making up Traveling On were recorded during the sessions that yielded The Decemberists’ album I’ll Be Your Girl. The band’s eighth studio album was produced by John Congleton and released by Capitol Records in March. The EP features a full band version of the I’ll Be Your Girl track “Tripping Along,” alongside four additional new songs.
Go By Ocean – Faded Photographs
The Scoop: Marin County’s Go By Ocean assembled at mastermind Ryan McCaffrey Oak Valley Recording studio in Novato to work on the group’s latest batch of original material. The result is the six-song EP Faded Photographs which is out today. McCaffrey co-produced the collection with Kevin Friedrichsen. Ryan provides vocals and guitar to the EP as part of a core band that also includes Tea Leaf Green bassist Eric DiBerardino and drummer Scott Rager as well as Electric Beethoven guitarist Clay Welch. Faded Photographs also features contributions from Tim Bluhm, Danny Eisenberg, Shawn Gregg and Friedrichsen.
