Tim Lefebvre Departs Tedeschi Trucks Band

126

The Tedeschi Trucks Band announced the departure of bassist Tim Lefebvre after five years in the group. Atlanta-based bassist Brandon Boone will join the TTB for their January and February 2019 shows.

Oteil Burbridge held down the bottom end with the Tedeschi Trucks Band from their formation in 2010 through 2012. The group toured with a number of bassists between Oteil’s time in the band and Lefebvre coming on board in 2013, including Eric Krasno and George Porter Jr. “After 5 great years with the band, Tim Lefebvre will be moving on,” said the band in a statement. The intense TTB tour schedule leaves little time for other gigs and Tim feels like it’s time to free up his schedule so he can spend more time producing and playing on a variety of different projects. We enjoyed a terrific musical camaraderie with Tim, and as the band continues to evolve we wish him the best. Bassist Brandon Boone will be joining us for our shows in January and February. We welcome his talent and energy as we start the new year!

Tim Lefebvre has a long and storied history of performing and producing sessions with the likes of David Bowie, Elvis Costello, Sting and John Mayer. Next up for the TTB is a performance at Paramount Theatre in Cedar Rapids, Iowa on January 17.
