Umphrey’s McGee celebrates the holiday season by releasing a live performance of “Santa Oddity” from guitarists Jake Cinninger and Brendan Bayliss‘ 10th Annual Acoustic Holiday Show in 2011.
Cinninger wrote the adaption of David Bowie’s 1969 “Space Oddity,” with its lyrics about Santa Claus. Bayliss sang a portion of Marshall Tucker Band’s “Can’t You See” including the line “Santa Please” as part of the one-and-done performance. Umphrey’s previously issued the song as a free download and as part of the Hall Of Fame Class Of 2011 compilation vinyl edition. Listen to “Santa Oddity” below:
