Guitarist Warren Haynes will present his 30th annual Christmas Jam benefit concerts at the U.S. Cellular Center in Asheville, North Carolina on Friday, December 7 and Saturday, December 8. Haynes will kick off the festivities by leading a private pre-jam performance on Thursday, December 6 at The Orange Peel in Asheville. If you can’t make it to the pre-jam in person, there’s an option to listen from home or wherever you have an internet connection.
WNCW will broadcast the pre-jam live from The Orange Peel in Asheville on Thursday night. Haynes never reveals the pre-jam lineup ahead of the show but it typically features a number of the musicians who will perform at the main events. “What began as a live Studio B session and a great opportunity for various artists to meet and jam with each other for the first time, has now become a tradition with a vibe all its own,” said WNCW music director Martin Anderson. “WNCW is honored to be able to broadcast it LIVE for you, in its entirety, with cool holiday tunes during set breaks to help get you into the Christmas spirit, ‘NCW-style.”
The broadcast is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. on Thursday night. Listen in the local broadcast area via 88.7 or worldwide through wncw.org. Gov’t Mule, Eric Church, Dave Grohl, Grace Potter, Mike Gordon, Jim James and Marco Benevento are among those set to perform at the Christmas Jam this weekend.
