Bandcamp revealed plans to open a record shop and performance space in Oakland, California. The online publishing platform and merchandise retailer for musicians is set to open its first brick-and-mortar location on February 1.
Located in Oakland at 1901 Broadway, the Bandcamp record store will offer physical editions some of the more than five million albums currently available on the site. The announcement stated the space will host free all-ages shows as part of a future video series. An opening celebration will begin at 7 p.m. PT on February 1 featuring performances by Bells Atlas, Sol Development, Queens D. Light, Jazz on the Sidewalk and MJ’s Brass Boppers.
