Keller Williams Joins The String Cheese Incident In Jamaica

Keller Williams joined The String Cheese Incident for an entire set on Sunday at Jewel Paradise Cove in Runaway Bay, Jamaica. The pre-announced first set collaboration was arranged as part of SCI’s International Incident destination event.

The Keller Williams Incident set began Sunday evening with “Callaloo and Red Snapper” from the 1999 KW/SCI album Breathe, which segued into the Grateful Dead’s “Eyes Of The World. Breathe also served as a source for takes on “Blatant Ripoff,” the record’s title track, “Vacate” and “Best Feeling.” SCI backed KW on “Sing For My Dinner” just as they did on his 2007 album Dream and they played the role of The Travelin’ McCourys on “Mullet Cut” from Williams’ 2012 LP Pick. Keller’s classic “Kidney In A Cooler” worked in “Deep Ellum Blues” and the set closed with the Dead’s “Scarlet Begonias.

The String Cheese Incident went back to normal formation for their final 2019 International Incident set Sunday. “Just One Story” followed by “Sirens” and “Let’s Go Outside” were sequenced together to open the set. A standalone “Sweet Spot” came ahead of “Windy Mountain” which wound its way back to the conclusion of “Just One Story.” The band then opted for “Bumpin’ Reel” before turning to “Restless Wind” to close out the set. “Rosie” was selected for the evening’s encore.
