Neil Young Debuts New Songs In Milwaukee

236

Neil Young debuted two new original songs at his concert in Milwaukee Wednesday evening. Young’s show at The Riverside Theater was opening night of a six-date solo tour that includes stops in Madison, Wisconsin and Minneapolis.

Young’s first performance of 2019 began with “Mansion On The Hill.” The 73-year-old played favorites such as “Cortez The Killer,” “Harvest Moon” and “Ohio” and also worked a few rarities into the set, performing “Old King” for just the second time since 2009. Young offered takes on the scarcely played “Thrasher,” “Don’t Be Denied,” “Homefires” and the encore was a ukulele version of “Tumbleweed.” Young premiered his new songs purportedly titled “Green Is Blue” and “Olden Days” at separate spots in the main set.

Young’s solo tour continues tonight in Madison. A four-show run at four different venues in Minneapolis begins Saturday. Watch audience-shot footage from Milwaukee posted by Nunu Zomot below:
