Phil Lesh & Friends Kick Off Terrapin Crossroads Run & Announce Webcast

135

Grateful Dead bassist Phil Lesh began a run of two Phil Lesh & Friends shows at his Terrapin Crossroads venue in San Rafael, California on Wednesday. Phil’s band for the run includes guitarists John Scofield and Scott Metzger, multi-instrumentalists Jason Crosby and Alex Koford as well as drummer Tony Leone. A webcast of tonight’s concert is available.

Phil Lesh & Friends kicked off their first of two sets on Wednesday with the fan-favorite sequence of “Help On The Way” > “Slipknot!” > “Franklin’s Tower.” Next up was a riveting take on “Shakedown Street” followed by a Metzger-led “New Minglewood Blues.” The opening frame concluded with the pairing of “Loser” and “Samson & Delilah.” Last night’s closing stanza opened with “Uncle John’s Band.” Phil and his ensemble then treated fans to “Eyes Of The World” and “Bird Song” before dipping into the Live Dead days for “Dark Star” and “St. Stephen.” From there, the group dove into “Turn On Your Love Light” and had Phil sing his signature tune “Box Of Rain.” For the encore, Lesh & Friends went with “Morning Dew.”
