Ryan Adams will release “Fuck The Rain” featuring guitarist John Mayer as the first single from his upcoming album Big Colors. The singer-songwriter also revealed he is working on a “secret thing” with Grateful Dead guitarist (and Mayer’s Dead & Company band mate) Bob Weir.
Adams is set to issue “Fuck The Rain” next Wednesday (January 23). Big Colors is due on April 19 through Blue Note Records/Capitol Records. The record is one of three Adams plans to release this year, which includes the previously detailed Wednesdays. Adams co-produced Big Colors with Beatriz Artola and along with Mayer it features contributions from Benmont Tench of Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers and Bob Mould.
Adams posted a picture with Weir that was taken a “few weeks ago” at Adams’ Pax AM recording studio in Los Angeles. The caption described the pair’s meeting as a “secret thing,” with no other details provided.
