Strand Of Oaks Announces New Album ‘Eraserland’ Featuring My Morning Jacket Members

203

Strand of Oaks will release a new album entitled Eraserland on March 22 via Dead Oceans. The album features Timothy Showalter backed by members of My Morning Jacket and the lead single “Weird Ways.”

Showalter worked with My Morning Jacket guitarist Carl Broemel, bassist Tom Blankenship, keyboardist Bo Koster and drummer Patrick Hallahan on the 11-song follow-up to 2017’s Hard Love and its 2018 companion Harder Love. The album was recorded with Kevin Ratterman at La La Land Studios in Louisville and also features contributions from guitarist Jason Isbell and vocalist Emma Ruth Rundle.

“I had thought for a moment Strand of Oaks might be over until a text from my friend, Carl Broemel, changed all that,” stated Showalter. “Unbeknownst to me, four members of My Morning Jacket and Kevin Ratterman booked studio time to record songs I didn’t think I’d ever write. But they believed I could and pulled me back from the brink. At last, the songs came–and quickly morphed into everything I’ve ever worked toward as this band.”

Strand Of Oaks also announced a tour in support of Eraserland that begins in April. Watch the “Weird Ways” video below:
