The Revivalists Cover Rolling Stones & Pink Floyd On New Year’s Eve 2018 In New Orleans

240

New Orleans rockers The Revivalists celebrated New Year’s Eve with a hometown show at Mardi Gras World on Monday night. The band fit in a number of debuts both original and covers over the course of their performance.

The theme for the night was “Other Side Of Paradise” and The Revivalists recruited Tank and the Bangas to open. Dave Shaw & Co. delivered a night heavy on material from the recently released album Take Good Care including the opening pairing of “Some People Say,” “Oh No” and “You Said It All.” There were plenty of classics such as “It Was A Sin,” “Bulletproof” and “Soulfight.” A countdown into 2019 came within “Celebration” from Take Good Care and featured a number of costumed dancers taking the stage.

“Celebration” was followed by a debut cover of The Rolling Stones’ “Miss You.” The evening’s encore started with Take Good Care’s “Otherside Of Paradise,” which along with “Some People Say,” “You Said It All,” “Future” and “Celebration” were debuts from the LP as per Setlist.FM. Next up was a take on Pink Floyd’s “Have A Cigar” and the show-ending sequence of “Criminal” and “Wish I Knew You.”
