ALO‘s Zach Gill played a memorable solo set at the atrium aboard Jam Cruise 17 on January 18. An audience recording of Zach’s set has surfaced.
Gill kicked off his set with “Don’t Touch My Stuff” from his 2008 solo album Stuff. He then went with “The World Is New” off 2017’s Life In The Multiverse. Next up was the ALO classic “Roses & Clover” before he pulled “Me & My Shadow” from Life In The Multiverse. Zach then strapped on an accordion for a medley of Madonna’s “La Isla Bonita,” A-Ha’s “Take On Me” and Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody.” The rest of ALO and percussionist Matt Butler emerged for Life In The Multiverse’s “Joy” and the ALO favorite “Walls Of Jericho.”
The set continued with “Where Everybody Knows Your Name,” the theme song for the TV show Cheers. Next up was a medley of Elton John’s “I Guess That’s Why They Call It The Blues” and “Tiny Dancer.” Zach then made his way through The Beatles’ “A Day In The Life” and ended his set with the debut of a song he wrote for his daughter Jaden in honor of her 18th birthday, “Love Is The Answer.” Listen to an audience recording captured by Erin Lunders:
