Aqueous Welcomes Members Of Turkuaz, BIG Something At Explosive Denver Show [Full Video]

Earlier this month, east coast rock outfits Aqueous and BIG Something took their 20-date co-headlining winter tour on a five-night stretch through Colorado. The bands capped off their Colorado run with an electric performance at Denver’s Cervantes’ Masterpiece Ballroom.

Despite hailing from Buffalo, NY, Aqueous has built quite the following in Colorado. The band performed a sold-out show in June at Denver’s Bluebird Theater, which they later released as a live album titled Live From The Bluebird. Aqueous also unveiled new material in 2018, as the four-piece Buffalo-based band released their newest studio album, Color Wheel, their first full-length studio effort since 2014’s Cycles.

INTERVIEW: Aqueous’s Mike Gantzer Recaps 2018 Highlights, Prepares For All-Improv Set

Aqueous opened up their Denver show with fan-favorite “Kitty Chaser (Explosions)”, as lead guitarist Mike Gantzer ripped through a series of gritty solos, backed by his hard-hitting rhythm section consisting of bassist Evan McPhaden and drummer Rob Houk. The band moved forward with a monstrous “Realize Your Light” > “Warren In The Window” segue before inviting up Turkuaz drummer Mikey Carubba to lend an extra hand on a cover of Green Day‘s “Welcome To Paradise”. Aqueous kept chugging with “Number and Facts”, followed up by “Mice” sandwiched in between a improv-heavy take on “Don’t Do It”. To close out their set, the quartet invited up BIG Something’s Nick MacDaniels, Jesse Hensley, Josh Kagel, Ben Vinogard, and Casey Cranford for a debut cover of Toto‘s “Rosanna”. The band offered up another sandwich in the encore slot, as they threw an instrumental take on Randy Newman‘s “Short People” in between “Uncle Phil’s Parachute”.

Luckily, fans can watch pro-shot video of Aqueous’ entire Denver performance below:
