From May 23 – 26, Allegany County Fairgrounds in Cumberland, Maryland will host the 12th annual DelFest. Today, on Del McCoury’s 80th birthday, organizers McCoury Music and High Sierra Music announced a series of lineup additions.
Tyler Childers, Sam Bush, Yonder Mountain String Band, Keller Williams’ PettyGrass feat. The Hillbenders, The SteelDrivers, Joe Craven & The Sometimers, The Larry Keel Experience, Frank Solivan & Dirty Kitchen, Kitchen Dwellers, Lindsay Lou, Front Country, Pixie & The Partygrass Boys and Marty O’Reilly & The Old Soul Orchestra have each been added to the DelFest ’19 lineup. Previously announced acts are festival hosts The Del McCoury Band along with The String Cheese Incident, Trampled by Turtles, Railroad Earth, I’m With Her, The Marcus King Band, Billy Strings, Sierra Hull, Gibson Brothers & The Mockingbird Band, Dré & The Gospel Collective and The Broomestix.
In honor of Del’s birthday, those on the lineup have sent their wishes to the father of the modern bluegrass scene. Putting the video below together was quite a feat considering the acts were spread out across the globe with SCI in Jamaica, Lindsay Lou in New Zealand and Marty O’Reilly in Italy.
