On Tuesday, Golden Gate Wingmen, the Grateful Dead-inspired quartet comprised of guitarist John Kadlecik (Dark Star Orchestra/Furthur), pianist Jeff Chimenti (Furthur/Dead & Company), drummer Jay Lane (Furthur/Wolf Bros) and bassist Reed Mathis (Billy & the Kids/Tea Leaf Green), announced a run of shows scheduled for this spring beginning with a performance at the The Ardmore Music Hall in Ardmore, Pennsylvania on April 11th.
Following their show in Ardmore, the band will continue their run of April performances with scheduled stops at Sherman Theater in Stroudsburg, PA (4/12); Le Poisson Rouge in New York, NY (4/13); The Hamilton in Washinton, D.C. (4/14); Be On Key Psychedelic Ripple in Denver, CO (4/19, 4/20, 4/21); and a pair of late-night Jazz Fest afterparty shows at Cafe Istanbul NOLA in New Orleans, LA (4/25, 4/28).
The band initially formed in 2014 for a gig at Phil Lesh‘s Terrapin Crossroads venue in San Rafael, California, as Kadlecik, Chimenti, and Lane had just completed a lengthy, multi-year run of shows as part of Furthur alongside Lesh and Bob Weir. In addition to sharing their own live renditions of Grateful Dead fan favorites, the supergroup also provides their own interpretations of music from classic rock bands including Bob Dylan, Van Morrison, Bob Marley, and Led Zeppelin.

Kadlecik and Lane are currently in the middle of their own winter tour as part of the John Kadlecik Band, which continues until later this week with a final show in Tampa, FL on Sunday, February 10th. Lane is also scheduled to link up with Weir and Don Was for a run of winter performances under their Bob Weir & Wolf Bros banner starting later this month on February 28th. In addition, Chimenti is also scheduled to rejoin his Dead & Company bandmates later this year for their stadium summer tour beginning on May 31st.
