moe. closed-out their February East Coast run on Saturday at New York City’s Beacon Theatre. The jamband stalwarts marked their return to the historic theater on Manhattan’s Upper West Side for the first time since 2010 with a guest appearance from Blues Traveler’s John Popper and the debut of “Along For The Ride.”

A night after playing an intimate club show at Brooklyn Bowl, the five-piece act took to the stage of the 2,890+ capacity opening things up with the “Waiting For The Punchline.” The Al Schnier-penned classic segued into the debut of “Along For The Ride.” After takes on “Four” and “Don’t Wanna Be,” Popper emerged. The harmonica whiz first lent a hand on “New York City,” moe.’s ode to the Big Apple. The Blues Traveler frontman would then stick around through the remainder of set teaming with them on expansive takes on “Blue Jeans Pizza” and old-school favorite “Moth.” Popper had last sat-in with the Buffalo-born band back in 2013.

The quintet looked to “Timmy Tucker” to begin a jam-heavy second stanza. The second-ever take on the recently debuted “Dangerous Game” followed. The band would then weave in and out of “McBain” and “George.” The lengthy segue-filled seamless stretch also included takes on “Montego” and “Time Ed” before returning to “George” to put a cap on the exploratory and adventurous frame. moe. brought their evening to a close with a one-song encore, looking to fan-favorite “Spine Of A Dog” to put a cap on things.
