Something For Kate Team Up With Beer InCider Experience For New Beer Collab

Something For Kate are teaming up with festival of froth the Beer InCider Experience to launch a brand new golden drop.

Dubbed ‘Miracle Cure’ as an ode to the song from the Aussie rock legends’ 2012’s Leave Your Soul To Science LP, the new brew was crafted at the Mornington Peninsula Brewery.

Head brewer Kristian Martin says Miracle Cure was modelled off a Rye Indian Pale Ale (IPA) with a fruity aroma and piney, spicy, melon flavours followed by a distinctive, yet refreshingly sharp finish.

“Something for Kate really wanted to create a brew that heroes less common ingredients that are sometimes overlooked or misunderstood when it comes to creating a palatable brew,” Martin says.

“It’s not every day you get to put your name to a beer that will cure all of the world’s ills,” adds frontman Paul Dempsey. “So it was important that our collaboration with Morning Peninsula Brewery combined characteristics of our favourite flavours to create the ultimate brew.”

The pale ale — which follows in the footsteps of an epic line-up of beer collabs from festivals past including The Smith Street Band and Fixation Brewing, The Jungle Giants and Range Brewing, and Ball Park Music with Green Beacon Brewing — will be served to punters at this year’s event, canned complete with limited-edition collaboration brew packaging.

ICYMI: the Beer InCider Experience will be going down in Brisbane and (for the first time) Melbourne this March, featuring performances from triple j favourites like DMA’S, Alex The Astronaut, WAAX and West Thebarton (as well as Something For Kate of course).

The roster also features rock supergroup Loser, which includes members of The Smith Street Band and The Bennies.

In 2019, organisers are again promising stacks of different brews from local, interstate and international breweries and cideries, as well as food trucks, pop-up restaurants and a “curated program of panel sessions with brewers and key industry players”.

There will also be a ‘Ping Pong Arena’ with “mini-stadium seating”, because why the hell not?
