Stereolab are the first act confirmed for the Desert Daze music festival, which will take place October 10 – 13 in Lake Perris, California. The recently-reunited band’s appearance at the festival will be their first North American date since 2008.

The avant-pop specialists announced in December the end of a hiatus which started in 2009. Stereolab also has a set of European festival sets planned. “There’s a handful of bands that I feel Desert Daze was made for, and Stereolab is one of them,” Desert Daze founder Phil Pirrone told the Los Angeles Times. Pirrone referred to Stereolab as “a dream” booking. Stereolab formed in 1990 and began a hiatus in 2009. Desert Daze will announce more of this year’s lineup at an event on February 19. Tickets for the festival are on sale now here.
