On Saturday night, Tedeschi Trucks Band wrapped up their weekend run in Nashville with their third and final show at the historic Ryman Auditorium.

The two-set, “evening with” performance began with a wonderful cover of Dr. John‘s “I Walk On Guilded Splinters”, followed Let Me Get By (2016) staples “Let Me Get By” and “Laugh About It”. A trio of go-to covers followed with Leonard Cohen‘s “Bird on a Wire”, Jimmy Cliff‘s “Sitting In Limbo”, and Little Milton‘s “More and More”. Next up was “Shame”, a newer track set to appear on the band’s forthcoming album, SIGNS, followed by a particularly heart-wrenching rendition of “Midnight In Harlem”. The band finally reached deep into their bag of tricks to pull out a cover of The Allman Brothers Band‘s “Don’t Keep Me Wonderin’”—their first rendition of the song since the summer of 2016—to close set one.

Tedeschi Trucks Band opened their final Ryman set with newly released SIGNS single, “They Don’t Shine“, followed by Made Up Mind (2013) cut “Do I Look Worried”. From there, Derek Trucks channeled both Eric Clapton and the Allman Brothers by way of a rendition of Derek and the Dominos‘ “Anyday” featuring a jam on “Blue Sky”. Derek Trucks Band favorite “Get What You Deserve” came next, followed by the band’s staple live pairing of John Prine‘s “Angel From Montgomery” and Jerry Garcia/Robert Hunter classic “Sugaree”.

Next, Tedeschi Trucks Band once again welcomed Luther Dickinson (North Mississippi Allstars) for a two-song sit-in including renditions of Allen Toussaint‘s “Get Out of My Life, Woman” and Derek Trucks Band’s “Joyful Noise” before closing out the set with blues staple “How Blue Can You Get” and Made Up Mind heavy-hitter “The Storm”.

The fun was not done, however, as the band returned to begin their encore with The Wood Brothers in tow. Together, TTB and The Wood Brothers performed a sing-along rendition of The Rolling Stones‘ “Sweet Virginia”, a song on which they’d frequently collaborate when the Woods joined Tedeschi Trucks’ on their 2017 Wheels of Soul tour. Once Oliver and Chris left the stage, Tedeschi Trucks capped their Ryman run with their fan-favorite Sly & the Family Stone medly (“Sing a Simple Song”/”I Want to Take You Higher”).
