Warren Haynes Performing With Orchestras

215

Guitarist Warren Haynes this week announced he will partner with the Asheville Symphony Orchestra for a special concert event, Warren Haynes Presents Dreams & Songs – A Symphonic Experience, at U.S. Cellular Center in Asheville, North Carolina on March 16. The show will be the first time Haynes performs his own compositions with an orchestra, but the Gov’t Mule frontman participated in several symphonic performances over the years.

Haynes’ previous experiences with orchestras have centered on celebrating the music of late Grateful Dead guitarist Jerry Garcia. For a taste of what Warren can do while accompanied by an orchestra, below is a collection of videos from the various Jerry Garcia Symphonic Celebration concerts and tours held since 2013. Often joined by drummer Jeff Sipe, bassist Lincoln Schleifer, vocalists Alecia Chakour, Jasmine Muhammad and Jacklyn LaBranch, note Haynes’ use of Garcia’s custom Doug Irwin guitars Wolf and Tiger at the shows.
