Bob Weir And Wolf Bros Perform “Shakedown Street” For First Time In Jacksonville [Video]

On Wednesday evening, Bob Weir and Wolf Bros continued along the home stretch of their ongoing early-2019 tour with a performance at Jacksonville, FL’s Florida Theatre. Following Tuesday’s sit-in by Phish pianist Page McConnell in Miami, Bob Weir, Jay Lane, and Don Was kept their Jacksonville performance in their Wolf family. However, the show did include a new edition to the Wolf Bros repertoire: Grateful Dead favorite “Shakedown Street”.

The show began with “Cassidy”, which moved smoothly into Little Feat‘s “Easy to Slip”. Bob Weir Blue Mountain cowboy tune “Only A River” came next, followed by a clever setlist pairing of Weir and Rob Wasserman‘s “The Winners” and Jerry Garcia/Robert Hunter classic “Loser”. A rendition of Bob Dylan‘s “Maggie’s Farm” and a soaring “Bird Song” brought set one to a close.

For their second set, Bob Weir and Wolf Bros returned with some NOLA flavor on “Iko Iko” before moving into their “Shakedown Street” debut. After poking around the Dead favorite for a while, the band commenced a seamless segment that would last the remainder of the set, segueing from RatDog‘s “Two Djinn” into “Eternity”, “Passenger”, “Truckin’”, Eddie Cooley‘s “Fever”, and, finally, a sweeping “Morning Dew”. The band returned to the stage for a “Ripple” encore to send the Jacksonville crowd home happy.
