Bruce Hornsby is set to return to the road for a run of concerts this spring to help promote his forthcoming solo album, Absolute Zero, which is due out on April 12th. The former Grateful Dead touring pianist had previously announced his plans to perform a select trio of shows in Massachusetts, Connecticut, and New York in late April alongside his band, The Noisemakers. On Tuesday, Hornsby expanded his 2019 concert schedule with new summer dates announced alongside Amos Lee and S. Carey.
The new concert dates begin with a show at Pocono Mountain Event Center in Mt. Pocono, PA on July 12th, followed by appearances at the Roxian Theatre in McKees Rocks, PA (7/13) and the Goodyear Theatre in Akron, OH (7/14). From there, Hornsby’s run of co-headlining dates with Amos Lee will begin on July 16th at the Rose Music Center at The Heights in Huber Heights, OH, and continues with more stops at The Grand Theater at Foxwoods in Mashantucket, CT (7/18); Maymont in Richmond, VA (7/20); Sprint Pavilion in Charlottesville, VA (7/21), and Wolf Trap in Vienna, VA (7/24).
Hornsby & The Noisemakers will then continue their own run of shows starting the following month alongside S. Carey beginning at the Pabst Theatre in Milwaukee, WI (8/7) and the Pantages Theatre in Minneapolis, MN (8/9), before closing the run out by themselves with a gig at the Dillon Amphitheatre in Dillon, CA (8/16).
Hornsby’s forthcoming album will feature musical appearances from artists including Justin Vernon, yMusic, The Staves, Blake Mills, Jack DeJohnette, Sean Carey, and The Orchestra Of St. Hanks in addition to a tune written by longtime Grateful Dead lyricist, Robert Hunter.
Tickets for all the new shows announced on Tuesday will go on sale starting this Friday, March 22nd, at 10 a.m. Local. Fans can head to Hornsby’s website to purchase the tickets.
