The Newport Folk Festival continues to slowly reveal its 2019 lineup. Organizers have announced that Dawes will perform on the Saturday of this year’s event, which will be held at Fort Adams State Park in Newport, Rhode Island on July 26 – 28. The Los Angeles-based band will play a special set celebrating the 10th-anniversary of their debut album North Hills with help from some special guests.
Organizers of the Newport Folk Festival partner with each act on the bill to donate to a music education charity. Newport Festival Foundation has made a donation on behalf of Dawes to Silverlake Conservatory of Music to provide scholarships to children whose families would otherwise be unable to afford weekly private lessons, instruments, supplies and group class enrollment.
Dawes joins recent additions Ruston Kelly, Rayland Baxter, Devon Gilfillian, Stephen Marley and Amy Ray Band. Tickets for this year’s Newport Folk Festival are sold out.
