Glen Hansard continues to preview material from his fourth solo record, This Wild Willing, which will be released on April 12 via ANTI- Records. The Irish singer-songwriter has shared the LP’s second single “Fool’s Game.”
“This song originated with a line I’d been rolling round my head: ‘It’s a fool’s, fool’s game, lover, that we have to play,’” shared Hansard. “I wanted to build something that felt like The Shangri-Las or Velvet Underground in their ‘Pale Blue Eyes’-period.” The 12-track effort that comes on the heels of Hansard’s 2018 album Between Two Shores, which was recorded in France at Black Box studios and produced by David Odlum.
