Phil Anselmo Is Playing A Free Show In Sydney With King Parrot

176

Legendary Pantera frontman Phil Anselmo is bringing his band The Illegals down under this month to headline the 2019 instalment of his m8s King Parrot’s roving Thrash, Blast & Grind festival.

The Sydney leg of the event is already totally sold out — but lucky fans will have a chance to see the metal icon perform live at a second show for absolutely fkn FREE.

You heard right — Phil will be hitting the stage at Hunter Street’s own version of the Titty Twister, Frankies Pizza By The Slice, on Monday 1st April alongside King Parrot and Black Rheno (you can check the official Facebook event right here as proof it’s no April Fools).

Meanwhile, this year’s Thrash Blast Grind tour will be heading to Canberra, Melbourne, Adelaide, Brisbane, Sydney, Perth, Newcastle and Hobart across March and April, with a second date being added in Melbourne after the first sold out. You can check out those dates below.

Philip H Anselmo & The Illegals were due to perform in New Zealand as well, but those shows have now been cancelled following the Christchurch terrorist attack, due to Phil’s previous “white power” comments.

ICYMI back in 2016, Anselmo made a Nazi salute and yelled “white power” at a charity concert in Hollywood. He later apologised, explaining it was a bad joke and saying he was “smashed drunk” at the time.

Phil has since continued to maintain that claims of racism against him are “utterly ridiculous”.
