Sheryl Crow is the latest act to be added to the lineup of the 2019 Newport Folk Festival. The Nashville-based singer-songwriter will perform on the Friday of this year’s event, which will be held at Fort Adams State Park in Newport, Rhode Island on July 26 – 28.
Organizers of the Newport Folk Festival partner with each act on the bill to donate to a music education charity. Newport Festival Foundation has made a donation on behalf of Crow to AdoptAClassroom.org. The funds from this donation “will go to a high school in Sheryl’s hometown of Kennett, Missouri – allowing Kennett High School’s band program to update existing sound/recording system within the band room. With this new equipment, Kennett will be able to record and have evaluative discussions about music and how to improve students’ overall performance.”
Crow joins recent additions Parker Millsap, Trey Anastasio and Yolo. Tickets for this year’s Newport Folk Festival are sold out.
