It’s March, and the madness is real, and not just for basketball fans. ‘Tis the season for summer festival announcements and one of New York’s coolest fests have released their 2019 lineup. Cobblestone Live Music & Arts Festival will be held August 2 and 3, in the center of the Historic Cobblestone district in downtown Buffalo. This year’s event will feature two outdoor main stages on Illinois and Columbia streets, a stage inside Buffalo Iron Works, and an electronic music stage and lounge area at Lockhouse Distillery & Bar.
Organizers of Cobblestone Live have put together an impressive lineup featuring local & regional acts, and also some very notable national acts. Among the headliners is Rochester’s Joywave, Buffalo’s Aqueous, an American singer-songwriter from Pennsylvania, Longhorne Slim And The Lost At Last Band, and the hard & fast bluegrass virtuoso Billy Strings. Buffalo’s Cobblestone District is a hotbed for live music and the festival is a celebration of exactly that. Joining in on the party is the Toronto 90’s rock band, Sloan. In support of a new album, Sloan is expected to bring some nostalgia, and certainly solid rock tunes, to the stage. Another group to look forward to this year is New York based “heavy instrumental fusion” group TAUK. The eclectic list goes on, promising a two day event in the heart of Buffalo that is sure to evoke a sense of allegiance & pride for the regional music and arts scene.
Things to look forward to at Cobblestone Live will include: 29 bands across 4 stages, games and activities for all ages, local food trucks and vendors, beverage tents and a VIP package with exclusive VIP areas and other perks. Festival gates will open at 4pm on Friday, August 2, and at 1pm on Saturday, August 3. Two day festival passes will be $35 presale/$45 walk up, single day passes are $20 presale/$25 walk up. VIP packages will be available for $100.
