Turkuaz Shares Bluegrass-Infused ‘Life In The City’ For New ‘Unplugged’ Session Series

Turkuaz are about the last band you’d expect to go acoustic, but the band did indeed participate in the unplugged Sugarshack Sessions video series. The resulting bluegrass-tinged version of “Life In The City,” the title track of their latest album, can be viewed below.

“We were hesitant to do this at first when we were told it was an ‘unplugged’ session,” guitarist/vocalist Dave Brandwein shared. “Our live show is very loud, in-your-face, and most of all, ELECTRIC! – in every sense of the word. But it ended up being an inspiring challenge and opportunity for us to do something totally new. For the first cut from the session, we decided to embrace that challenge to the fullest, and do ‘Life in the City’ in a completely different style. It worked surprisingly well, and we had a fine time doing it!”
