As reported, on March 21, impresario Michael Dorf will present The Music Of Van Morrison all-star tribute concert at Carnegie Hall in New York City. The final additions to the lineup honoring legendary singer-songwriter Van Morrison have been revealed.
Patti Smith, Valerie June, Todd Rundgren, Low Cut Connie, Shawn Colvin, Blind Boys of Alabama and Josh Ritter. The new additions join previously announced acts The Secret Sisters, Glen Hansard, Anderson East, David Johansen, Lee Fields, Bettye LaVette, Robert Earl Keen, Brian Fallon, John Paul White, The Resistance Revival Chorus, Richard Marx, William Elliott Whitmore and Darlene Love.
Music education organizations for underprivileged youth will receive 100 percent of the net proceeds from this year’s event. Previous tribute concerts staged by Dorf honored Aretha Franklin, Bill Withers, David Byrne, Paul Simon, Prince, Joni Mitchell, Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, Elton John, R.E.M., Neil Young and The Rolling Stones, with more than $1.5 million raised for charity to date.
