This summer marks the 50th anniversary of the historic Woodstock Music & Arts Festival which took place in August 1969 at Max Yasgur’s farm in Bethel, New York. 50th anniversary concerts will be held this August 16, 17 and 18 at Bethel Woods Center For The Arts near the site where the original Woodstock took place.

A 50th anniversary festival co-produced by Woodstock ‘69 organizer Michael Lang is also planned that weekend at Watkins Glen International in Watkins Glen, New York. Dead & Company and Santana are reportedly among those recruited to play the event.

This edition of Saturday Stream presents a Spotify Playlist of the platform’s catalog of recordings from Woodstock 1969. The eight and half hour set of live cuts is organized chronologically beginning with Santana’s middle-of-the-night set in the early hours of Saturday, August 16 through Jimi Hendrix’s legendary morning performance on Monday, August 18.

Between those are sets by Janis Joplin, Sly & The Family Stone, Jefferson Airplane (with Nicky Hopkins), Joe Cocker and Johnny Winter, as well as recordings by The Who, Ten Years After and the debut of Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young. Stream the Woodstock 1969 Spotify Playlist below:
