Ben Harper appeared on Monday’s episode of American Idol. The singer-songwriter teamed with Top 20 contestant Alejandro Aranda for a take on “There Will Be A Light,” the title track from his 2004 LP that he recorded with Blind Boys of Alabama.
“Alejandro Aranda was born and raised in Pomona,” shared Harper about his duet partner. “I was born in Pomona Valley Hospital blocks away from his house, and grew up one town over. I used to hear him play in my family’s music store.” Watch the pair’s performance of “There Will Be A Light” below:
