Midnight North Shares NPR ‘Tiny Desk Contest’ Submission [Watch]

201

NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert series is, without a doubt, one of the most entertaining series on the Internet. With big-name acts like Tedeschi Trucks Band, Trey AnastasioThundercatMac Miller, and Anderson .Paak & The Free Nationals among our favorites that have taken over the mini space, we trust and believe in whatever talent the NPR folks put before our eyes.

Along with the ongoing performance series, NPR hosts an annual Tiny Desk Contest, which invites artists to submit their own videos from behind a “Tiny Desk” for the chance to win a performance slot on the series. The annual Tiny Desk Contest brought us Tank and The Bangas in 2017 and Naia Izumi in 2018.

Following NPR’s recent announcement of their 2019 contest, Midnight North submitted a Tiny Desk Contest entry. The video captures the band—comprised of Grahame Lesh, Elliot Peck, Alex Jordan, Connor O’Sullivan, and Nathan Graham—performing an acoustic take on their new tune “Long View”, which was recorded at Grahame’s father Phil Lesh‘s Terrapin Crossroads venue on March 24th. “Long View” was written by Lesh and Graham and will be featured on the band’s forthcoming album.

The winner of NPR’s 2019 Tiny Desk Contest will head to Washington, D.C. to play their own Tiny Desk concert before heading out on the road with NPR and Blue Microphones for a national tour.
