Neil Young & Crazy Horse Announce Forthcoming Studio Album

85

Earlier this month, in a Q&A post on Neil Young‘s Neil Young Archives (NYA) website, the 73-year-old rock icon revealed that he was getting back into the studio with Crazy Horse for a recording session.

On Tuesday, Neil Young unveiled a new post, detailing that a new album is on the way, which consists of 11 new songs ranging from three minutes to 14 minutes, and is set for release in the early fall of 2019. Untitled at the moment, Neil Young notes that his latest LP alongside bassist Billy Talbot, drummer Ralph Molina, and guitarist Nils Lofgren, “Stands as one of the most diverse albums I have ever made and I can’t wait for you to hear it!”

Recorded at 9,200 feet elevation in the Rockie Mountains, the band used their old tube board, microphones, and equipment for the recent studio endeavor, which was mastered by John Hanlon. Although Young has been a longtime Warner Bros. musician, he notes, “Whatever label this brand new Crazy Horse album is on, it will be a proud moment for all involved, something we were not sure we would get to do.”

Young leaves his fans with some final words, exclaiming, “Soon you will be hearing it too! We plan to tour in support of this album and hope to see you all there.”
