Prince’s memoir The Beautiful Ones will be posthumously released on October 29. The Associated Press reports Random House will publish the memoir featuring Prince’s unfinished manuscript as well as “rare photos, scrapbooks and lyrics.”
First announced in 2016, the 288-page The Beautiful Ones was in progress at the time of Prince’s death in April of that year. The memoir that spans Prince’s childhood to his final days includes an introduction by The New Yorker’s Dan Piepenbring.
“The Beautiful Ones is the deeply personal account of how Prince Rogers Nelson became the Prince we know: the real-time story of a kid absorbing the world around him and creating a persona, an artistic vision, and a life, before the hits and the fame that would come to define him,” Random House stated.
Prince was 57 when he died on April 21, 2016. An accidental overdose on the prescription painkiller Fentanyl was determined to be the cause of his untimely death.
