Hey there, I’m Emmy. I write stuff and things for this here website Music Feeds, I play in a band called RedHook and I also just created a brand new punk, rock & metalcore mini-festival for Sydney called UsFest.
It’s happening this Saturday at Oxford Art Factory and it’s gonna be a right old TIME. We’ve got some of the most fire local bands in the whole damn country ripping OAF’s stages a new one — from the pop-punk stylings of Hopeless Records’ own Between You And Me, freshly UNFD-minted Yours Truly, Stateside and Terra to the grunge-punkery of Sydney’s The Dead Love to the crushing metalcore riffage of Ocean Sleeper, Arteries, The Last Martyr, Sienna Skies and more — and to boot, 20% of the money from every ticket sold will go toward supporting the awesome work of Girls Rock! Sydney.
We just dropped the set times today, which you can scope out below, and we’re also stoked to announce that Newy pop-punks Eat Your Heart Out will also be gracing the Gallery Bar decks for a DJ set post-midnight, while in the main room, the legends from emo bash Taking Back Saturday will be in to take over the DJ booth with a Bring Me The Horizon “On Repeat” party (free access for anyone with an UsFest ticket).
FYI 50% of our artist lineup is made up of bands with at least one non-male member, because we’re all about bringing each and every one of us scene freaks together to celebrate diversity, killer tunes & each other.
Come have a beer and mosh, whydontcha.
PS shoutout to Music Feeds for letting me write this! I promise I’ll start showing up to work on time more!
