Tank and the Bangas‘ sophomore studio album Green Balloon can be streamed now ahead of its official release on May 3. The 17-track LP, which will be issued through Verve Forecast premiered via NPR Music’s First Listen series.
Green Balloon marks the band’s first new album since 2013’s Think Tank. The New Orleans-based act tapped Jack Splash, Mark Batson, Zaytoven, Louie Lastic and Robert Glasper for production duties. Glasper also contributes musically to three tracks, while Alex Isley is featured on the song “Hot Air Balloons.” “Green Balloon is a sister to Think Tank,” explained lead singer Tarriona “Tank” Ball. “Think Tank was 12, and Green Balloon is 16 and having sex.
