Tedeschi Trucks Band Kicks Off 2019 European Tour

119

Tedeschi Trucks Band kicked off a 12-date European tour on Tuesday in Paris at L’Olympia Bruno Coquatrix. The multi-piece rock and soul band delivered their patented mix of originals and covers over the course of two sets during the opening night of the run.

The Derek Trucks and Susan Tedeschi-led ensemble opened and closed their opening frame with cuts from their 2016 LP Let Me Get By. In between the band would mix their own material with takes on The Box Tops’ “The Letter,” Wille Nelson’s “Somebody Pick Up The Pieces,” Bob Dylan’s “Down In The Flood” and Johnny Moore’s Three Blazers’ “How Blue Can You Get?”.

The Allman Brothers Band via Blind Wille McTell’s “Statesboro Blues” began the second set of the evening. “Part Of Me,” “When Will I Begin” and “I Want More” from their three studio albums helped fill out the stanza. Tedeschi got to shine to close things out delivering what has become a trio of her signature songs. The Signs standout track “Shame” was up first, with “Midnight In Harlem” and “Bound For Glory” bringing the set to an end. Joe Tex’s “Show Me” was tapped as the lone encore last night in Paris.
