The Killers were the musical guests on both Monday and Tuesday night’s episodes of Jimmy Kimmel Live, which is taping shows this week in Las Vegas at the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino. The local heroes performed their new single “Land Of The Free” along with a cover of James Taylor’s “Carolina On My Mind.”

For their first appearance of the week, The Killers offered up the live debut of their first new music since 2017’s Wonderful Wonderful. Brandon Flowers began the performance of “Land Of The Free” solo on piano before being joined by the rest of the band as well as choir members from the high schools that both he and Kimmel attended.

The Killers also subbed for Taylor, who was originally scheduled to appear on last night episode but had to cancel due to illness. The rock act showed off their softer side with a take on “Carolina On My Mind.” According to Stereogum, The Killers had previously played the track from singer-songwriter’s 1968 self-titled debut once back in 2013.
